A 1 Bed Room - Bariatric will accommodate one patient for the delivery of nursing, medical care and treatment to meet the needs of bariatric (obese or morbidly obese) patients.
The room area allows for the size and manoeuvring of larger equipment and/or additional furniture, such as, bariatric beds and chairs, mobile patient lifters, etc. Natural light and outlook is essential; the patient requires the ability to view out of the window from either the bed or a chair.
The following features to be considered during design:
- Increased door widths to allow for easy access of large equipment
- Ceiling mounted patient lifter
Acoustics: acoustic privacy required.
Body protected electrical area.
