The Audiology testing room provides audiometric testing for patients. The clinician workstation shall be positioned for direct observation of the patient inside the testing booth through a viewing panel.
The internal Audiometric booth is as per manufacturer’s specifications.
Design considerations:
- Audiometric booth should be ventilated or connected to air-conditioning, power and data
- Level access to the Audiometric Booth by setting down the floor is recommended
- The floor structure shall be designed to support the concentrated loads of the audiometric booth and shall incorporate appropriate vibration isolation measures to minimise structure-borne noise transmission, where required to achieve acoustic performance criteria
- Room dimensions shall be sufficient to accommodate the audiometric booth, including all manufacturer-specified installation clearances and access requirements
- Wheelchair accessibility and compliant maneuvering clearances
