Description / Special Requirements The Dental Laboratory is a workshop that provides facilities and equipment to manufacture dentures, construct prosthetic appliances, splints and store models and materias used in the manufacturing process. The Laboratory may accommodate distinct zones for working with different materials and equipment such as wax, wire and acrylics, plaster, metal casting, polishing/ grinding area and storage. Note; ceramics require special dust extraction and will generally be located in a separate small laboratory. The Dental Laboratory may be located remotely from the Dental Unit. Natural light is desirable. Lighting shoud be colour corrected to ensure good colour matching where necessary. Sound attenuation high: Acoustic privacy required Special Design Requirements: - Air exhaust for dust producing equipment eg.grinders may be required - A plaster trap will be required for plaster casts
