Additional Design Considerations:
- Depth 0.9 metres to 1.5 metres - gradual slope; Deep end may be
reduced if paediatric use is likely to be frequent
- Wet deck - single channel recommended;
- Temperature of water recommended: 33 - 40 degrees C;
- Temperature of air to be no more than 10 degees below water
temperature, range 22 - 27 degrees C
- Water to be earthed
- Pool surface - tiled, non-slip; ensure a high level of slip resistance to
tiles on the ramp; vertical surfaces of tiling do not need to be slip
resistant
- Glazing to pool walls recommended
- Ramp access with handrail & stair access with handrails
- Pool handrails required - not recessed type
- Pool blanket may be required (insulation for energy conservation)
- Disinfection system is essential & to be considered
- Pool hydraulic hoist may be required
- Underwater pressure jets for therapeutic purposes is optional
