| Description / Special Requirements | A single bay for the care of well babies away from their mother's bed area which may include treatments such as phototherapy or for babies who do not stay with their mother during the post natal period. A staff handwash basin should be provided for each three Neonatal Bays - General Care. An external outlook is desirable from the general care bays. Acoustics: Sound attenuation level - high; Acoustic privacy is required to perimeter walls Body Protected electrical area Special requirements: - Lighting should be controllable with blackout facilities - Sound levels should be controllable and less than 40db, including air-conditioning, telephones, alarms, paging systems & basin taps - temperature should be controllable from 21 degreesC to 30 degrees C. |
