| Description / Special Requirements | Single bed room which may be used to isolate patients with known infectious conditions; natural light and outlook is essential. Glazing to room front and doors is recommended for patient visibility. The Isolation Room - Negative Pressure will require an internal staff handwash basin, direct access to ensuite toilet and shower facilities, and an Anteroom or Airlock to maintain air pressurisation. The ceiling floor and all perimeter walls, including penetrations, must be tightly sealed, Exit doors must have a self-closing device. To ensure aerosols are contained the corridor pressure must be at lest 0.01inches of H2O pressure greater than adjoining areas. Acoustics: Acoustic privacy is required.
