| Description / Special Requirements | The PET/CT Scanning Room provides an enclosed, radiation shielded room with a hybrid PET camera and CT Scanning unit for non-invasive scanning procedures. The patients have been injected with a radionucliede and are generally awake during the scanning procedure. A Control room and a Computer Equipmment room will be located adjacent. The PET Scanning room will include a handwashing basin. CCTV cameras will be required for patient observation with monitors in the Control Room. Acoustics: Medium Acoustic privacy is required Body Protected electrical area Additional Design Considerations: - Radiation shielding as advised by Radiation Consultant - Unistrut ceiling able to carry moving loads may be required - Cable ducts between Control Room and Computer Room may be required - 'X-ray in Use' lights are required outside each entry door - operable by the CT /PET equipment - Power should be on emergency supply Doors may need to be motorised due to the weight from the lead sheilding - seek Radiation Consultants advice |
