| Description / Special Requirements | An enclosed Patient Bed Bay used for holding patients prior to procedures, observation of patients following procedures and/or assessment and treatment of patients with non acute conditions. Each bay must be large enough to accommodate an adult bed with additional space for monitoring equipment and to ensure access for staff in case of emergency. Each bay or cubicle shall have a minimum clearance of 91.44 centimeters (3 feet) between walls or partitions and the sides and foot of stretchers or patient beds. The Enclosed Patient Bay may be used for isolation of patients and will contain a staff handwashing basin. Patient toilets and emergency equipment should be readily accessible.
