| Description / Special Requirements | A Seclusion Room provides for the sole confinement of a distressed or agitated person requiring separation for short periods at any hour of the day or night on an involuntary basis. The Seclusion Room will be observable from the Staff Station. An external outlook is desirable. All glazing (including external windows) must comply to relevant safety standard. Acoustics: Sound attenuation level high; Acoustic privacy is required Additional Design Considerations: - An internal observation window is required - A second room egress door is required - The room shall be lockable from the outside only and shall have a mental health compliant push/ pull handle from the inside. The door shall be unlocked from the inside by card access control for secure staff egress - If an ensuite is provided the door should be acrylic, double swing and with no lock or hardware |
